Administrator, Baghdad, Iraq

Transferred from Colombia to Baghdad for a special mission, I was in charge of the administrative set-up of the new delegation in Baghdad, which relocated 11 expatriates from Jordan to Baghdad in January 2011. Main challenges included:
  • Recruitment, training and management of 30 administrative staff members
  • HR Responsible for all 100 national employees
  • Create & implement HR processes and procedures for the Delegation
  • Implement financial procedures for the new structure
  • Financial Controlling of all expenditures and budget follow-up
  • Infrastructure set-up: rental agreements, rehabilitation of offices and residences

As a flying Administrator I gave support to the Administrators based in the Delegation of Bogota, Sub-Delegation of Cali and the Office of Pasto.  My main tasks involved:
  • Recruit and train a new HR Manager (new function)
  • Improve and reorganize the communication flow in HR for all ICRC offices in Colombia
  • In Bogota – Restructuring and training of the secretary pool
  • Organize and give a training for all administrators

Responsible for hotel development advisory and operator selection across Central and Eastern Europe, my role involved working with a wide range of developers and operators, providing both with reasoned advice on various levels. My experience included:
  • Provide consultancy work to clients including development and investment advice for hotel and mixed-used developments
  • Lead the operator selection from marketing the product until signature of an agreement
  • Negotiation of management and lease agreements on behalf of owners/investors
  • Build internal and external relationships and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients
  • Other tasks include: feasibility studies, brokerage, and valuation

Analyst

The existent team of CB Richard Ellis changed hands after the sale to Atisreal Hotels. My main responsibilities within this team were:
  • Valuation of portfolio and single hotel assets
  • Investment consultancy on an acquisition of a palace hotel in Paris for a bank (value of building: 404M€)
  • Representation of a Spanish client for an acquisition (analysis of due diligence, establishment of value of the property (value: 11 M€)
  • Sale of two Parisian hotels and a portfolio of 7 properties located in France (preparation of brochure, analysis of due diligence valuation and selection of potential buyer)

As a consultant in the financial division, I was in charge of, on behalf of external clients, the entire recruitment process with regards to financial staffing. My daily tasks included:
  • Prospecting and cold calling of potential clients

  • Recruitment procedure for clients (interviews, technical tests, control of references of applicants)
  • In a short period, I reached a sales target of 45K€ per trimester (average 30K€)
